My name is Corey Parlin, I have raced and ridden most of my life. I had my pro card in Motocrosss and was a top 20 GNCC and Enduro Racer. Now, I share my passion by helping others. Our ramp up process is designed to empower you and outfit you with the tools they need to succeed. Talk to us today about how we can support your progression, help you become a safer, better, more efficient rider.
We use three levels when we coach classes. Level 1 is for newer riders that have not rode much. In this class we spent the first half in a flat grassy area. We work for the first half of the class on drills and the second half on trail or track. It is very important to us that it is inclusive and not intimidating for any rider. Level 2 is trail riders that have rode ccc single track. Ride the C class in racing and would like to advance. We do about 90 minutes of drills and the rest on the trail/track. Level 3 is more advanced techniques, A/B riders, have rode tighter more technical trail or ridden Moto tracks. We use about 60 minutes of drills and the rest of the time on the trail/track.
I started this small business with mainly racers. Now I’m getting more recreational riders which is awesome. Today I had a rider ask what qualifies me to be a coach? Wow, what a great question and one that anyone signing up for any riding school should be asking if they don’t know already. I’m going to attempt to answer that for myself. I believe there are lots of great coaches out there, I really like AJ, Ryno and of course one of my friends and mentors Jeff Stanton. I had great coaches growing up and great trainers. They are so important. So in light of the fact that a lot of new customers don’t know me I’m gonna do a quick recap of my experience because I believe it does matter. Also look at your coaches riding technique on the bike, is it what you see most professional riders doing? Does your potential coach teach the new ways or the old ways? Do they demonstrate only or can they articulate how to do something and why? What were their results racing? Are they a certified @usmca_official coach? This isn’t a slight against any other coach only my observation that these are all good questions. Ask questions, be curious.
